Questions, answered
Before you book.
The questions we are asked most, in the order they usually come up — from who turns up at your door to the certificate you are left holding at the end.
About Allsafe
- Who exactly are Allsafe Electrical Services?
- We are a family-run electrical firm based at 70 Brays Road in Sheldon, on the Solihull side of Birmingham. The business is run by Edward and Michelle — the same two people who quote your job also carry it out and sign it off.
- Are you a registered company?
- Yes. Allsafe Electrical Services Ltd is a limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 06468671.
- Who will actually come to my home?
- Edward and Michelle. It is a small family firm, so you get the same familiar faces every visit — no rotating subcontractors turning up unannounced.
What we do
- What kind of work do you take on?
- Everything a home needs electrically: consumer unit upgrades, sockets, switches and lighting, EV chargers, electric showers, security cameras and floodlights, dimmers, underfloor heating thermostats, fault finding and repairs, plus EICR testing and certification.
- Do you do small jobs, or only big installations?
- No job is too small. A single flickering light, one dead socket or a dimmer swap is just as welcome as a full consumer unit upgrade.
- Can you provide an EICR or landlord safety certificate?
- Yes. We carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports for homeowners and landlords, along with consumer unit inspection and testing, and issue the certificate you need for compliance.
- Do you install EV car chargers?
- Yes — we handle home EV charger installations from survey through to certification, including cable routing and the connection back to your consumer unit.
Booking & on the day
- How quickly can you attend?
- For planned work we will agree a date that suits you. For urgent problems we run a 24/7 emergency call-out — one recent customer noted we were able to come round within the hour.
- Will I have to wait in all day?
- No. We give you an appointment time and keep to it — reviewers specifically mention we turn up to the minute.
- Will you make a mess in my home?
- We work tidily and clean up after ourselves. Customers have written that we take our shoes off coming in from outside and leave the house as if we had never been there.
- Do you work evenings and weekends?
- We are open 24 hours, 7 days a week for emergencies. Planned work is booked in at a time that works for you.
Credentials & safety
- Are you qualified and registered?
- Yes. We are a NICEIC Approved Contractor (044222), Part P registered and a NICEIC Domestic Installer, and we hold City & Guilds qualifications in inspection & testing and the 18th Edition wiring regulations.
- What does NICEIC Approved mean for me?
- It means our installation work is regularly assessed against BS 7671, and that we can self-certify it to Building Regulations — so you do not pay a separate building-control inspection fee.
- Are you a member of any consumer-protection scheme?
- We are TrustMark registered (licence 297105, with NICEIC as scheme provider) and a Which? Trusted Trader, both of which vet and monitor how we work.
- Is your work certified?
- Yes. Work is tested and signed off with the appropriate certificate — an EICR, minor works certificate or installation certificate depending on the job.
Quotes, payment & after the job
- How do you quote — and will the price change?
- You get a clear estimate before work starts, explained in plain English. Our invoice matches the quote; a reviewer noted the final bill was exactly as quoted, apart from an extra dimmer switch they asked us to fit on the day.
- How do I pay?
- We accept cash, BACS bank transfer and all major cards.
- What documentation will I receive?
- You will receive the relevant electrical certificate for the work carried out, which you can keep for your records or hand to a letting agent, buyer or building-control officer.
- What areas do you cover?
- Solihull, Olton, Yardley, Sheldon, Shirley, Stechford and the wider Birmingham area.
- How do I get in touch?
- Call 07545 435003, email edward@allsafe-electrical-services.co.uk, or send us a message through the contact page and we will come back to you.
